Richmond Streetcar Route Alternatives Narrowed
Public Feedback Encouraged
Hosted by The Downtown Richmond Streetcar Steering Committee. This is an opportunity for the public to review revised streetcar concepts and give more feedback. The committee is committed to gathering opinions, ideas and seeking to gain as wide a perspective as possible at this stage in the process.
The first round of public meetings occurred last fall. Technical findings from utilities and engineering reviews have been presented to the steering committee in addition to the public feedback. The next step is to return to the public showing changes to the streetcar route and various options to be considered based on the information gathered.
Determining community interest, opinion and support at this time will be critical factors that guide the next phases of the project. Following these public meetings, a final round of review will be conducted by the steering committee. The objective is to have a recommendation to present to the city council within the next few weeks.

Program Planning.
Program Planning: Program is what League is all about. At all levels, it is what we study, what we inform the public about, what we advocate for. Every year local Leagues like ours across the nation will be examining their local positions to see if they remain relevant, need to be retired, updated, restudied, or retired. The national League (LWVUS) convenes biannually, and this is a convention year. Therefore members will also be discussing national League program. Lively conversation, and wonderful infoarmtion.
