The Richmond Metro League currently has a group looking at education issues, including the progress and recommendations of the SOL Innovation Committee. For more information see https://education.virginia.gov/initiatives/sol-innovation/ and email Virginia Cowles at firstname.lastname@example.org.
There also is a group focused on women's issues. With approval of the LWV Virginia board, the Richmond League will be lobbying for passage of the Equal Rights Amendment at the General Assembly. For more information on this group email Donna Granski at email@example.com.
The LWVUS is conducting consensus on "Key Structures of Democracy" with two studies. The Money in Politics study will update the League's position on campaign finance, looking at whether financing a political campaign is protected speech under the First Amendment. See http://forum.lwv.org/category/member-resources/our-work/money-politics
A separate LWVUS study is reviewing the process of amending the US Constitution. See http://forum.lwv.org/category/member-resources/our-work/constitutional-amendment-study
